Grow up!!! unlocking is illegal!

WTF!!!! I know it has been about a month sense it has been ruled that unlocking a new phone is illegal.  I have held off long enough, thinking that this idiocy would be thrown out by now, but no.  It still stands.  As of January 29th it is illegal to unlock YOUR new Smart phone. This is also where people become confused.

Jailbreaking your iphone or rooting your Android are not the same as Unlocking them.  When you unlock a phone all you are doing is making that phone "free" of its need to be on that one service provider. THATS IT!!!!! However, you can still have the provider unlock it for you which was once upon a time free.  But now if you want to "legally" unlock your device you have to pay the provider to do it for you. (Cheap way for them to make a buck... ASSHOLES!) Other than a possible receipt that they may give you for doing it. How they hell are they going to know the difference? And if a cop stops you cause he sees you on a smart phone, is he gonna fine you if your sim card says att and your phone says tmobile? They could... but isnt there more important things for them to worry about... idk... like crack and people beating their kids? Just saying...

Any who, Jailbreaking and rooting are just modifications that you can apply to the devices OS's software so you can tweak it so that it can run to your liking.  I could go more in depth about it but we'd be here all day.

The thing that really pisses me off about how "Unlocking" your phone is now illegal is the simple fact that it is YOUR PHONE!!! If im willing to shell out 3-500 bucks for a phone i WILL choose what provider I WANT to be on. For the mean fact that its MINE.  When you buy a car do you have to go with whatever insurance company they tell you to? NO!!! I hope and pray that this stupidy is disregarded soon.  The mere fact that the US government is now worried about peoples cell phones and not murder and people starving is utter madness.

Im not going to get to upset over it because look at all the spoofing software that is out... i dare someone to track everyone who unlocks there phone and fine them... But i for one will continue to.... follow this ridiculous law... ;)
