Got a 3GS? Why not trade up to a 4S?
According to recent reports released by Apple, 3GS devices my be running low in the arsenal of their products. With a release date of late September moved forward to the 12th, the new iPhone5 looks like it may be pushing the (now 3 year old) iPhone 3GS to the curb. According to 9to5mac.com…
“until further notice,” Genius Bars should perform the following for iPhone 3GSs: screen repairs, discuss the advantages of buying a new iPhone, and lastly, swapping out the full iPhone 3GS hardware… With supplies of the iPhone 3GS so low, Apple even tells employees to swap out affected 3GSs with an iPhone 4 replacement unit. That is if the particular store is completely out of the 3GS…”
The 3GS is supposedly going to be “Update-able” to the new iOS6 platform, but with the “short stock” on hand, it may look like the end to some 3GS holders. Arguably, this may only be one of the many rumors circling over-head, above the anticipated release of the new i5 device. But if Apple is willing to up-grade you to a 4S… why not?

BITESms half of from the big boss!!!
"ONE WEEK ONLY: biteSMS licenses on SALE HALF PRICE!!! Check out biteSMS, Settings, Themes…NICE!!! Added a ‘mark as read’ icon in the Apple banner roll notification. Added the ability to display the contact pic in the ‘Lock Screen Notification List’ (see biteSMS, Settings, More Stuff, Contact Pics). Better control of Quick Reply. See biteSMS, Settings, Quick Reply: Lock Mode and Unlock Mode. Fixed a whole heap of layout issues on the iPad. wanna jailbreak with me?
So you just got an iDevice. Welcome to the club, pal. I dont mean it with any disrespect, but nowadays, every family has about 2 iDevices. And guess what? Only one third of them are jailbroken. And it's kind of a mix between they dont know how, they dont trust it, or simply they have never freakn heard of it before haha. So if you are new into the scene and want a little insight on jail breaking, why not here it from a guy who has actually done time and can explain (in moderate detail) what its all about... it'll be a fun read haha.
So lets think of this metaphorically. You bought an iDevice and are locked into a 2 year contract. (some may not apply but you'll get it!) The same as you committing a crime and being sentenced to a 2 year term. (Que the crappy flashbacks) Now that you have had your plain old iDevice, or have been sitting around block to tear to yard, long enough that your getting bored with your surroundings, or iDevice just doing its regular old motions. It's time for a change. A time to break out. To "Jailbreak"!!!
So the next thing is you hit "google" to find out what you can do, or ask around find out how and where and when to do it. Then you find the right place to Download the program that will give you an untethered Jailbreak, or ....a time to break free!! You run the program and it runs seamlessly and your device if now free from its factory constraints. Just like the guy that finally breaks outta jail. Tho yeah your free, but where to go from there..
Once your device is jailbroken, you will have a new best friend. It's name... "Cydia"..... sounds like some shit outta the matrix right? hahah But, on cydia you will find an app store you never dreamed of. You'll find tweaks and apps. But there is always pirating no matter where you go, so while your on cydia, try and play nice and pay the people who deserve it.
Now i have blogged about the perfect set up for a newly jailbroken iDevice so i will not tell you what these apps and tweaks do. Just trust me, (or you can read a week old blog of mine) and you will be loving your new jailbroken iDevice. Some of these are free and some are pay... dont be stingy and pay ok? lol ( dont go looking for a pirate source) Install the Following
1) SBSettings
2.) 5 column springboard
3.) 5 icon dock
4.) iFile (an absolute must have)
5.)Gridlock
6.)bigify
7.)Barrel
8.) Protube HD
9.)lock screen info
And these next two are for you cheap people... i dont condone it i just tell it like it is... 10.) installous 11.) crackulous
And now that it has been amazingly updated
12.) Zypher
Those are the first thing any new jailbreaker needs to have on there newly Jailbroken iDevice. I only made the comparison about me doing time and Jailbreaking as a joke and a bit of cruel irony haha. I did my time, now i teach people how to Jailbreak, aint life crazy haha
Any and all questions as usual leave a comment below. or you can follow me on twitter at @ichuckydee or on my new FB www.facebook.com/ichucky.dee thanks for the support and keep reading guys
No Cydia for Beta Breaks
No Cydia on beta breaks!!!!!
If you have been following along with all of the guys who are behind the scenes of jailbreaking, then you already know. Some how, amazingly fast productivity has kept them on the heals of the the iOS6 developers. Releasing update after update of jailbreaks. Presently, you can upgrade your iDevice, by downloading the iOS6 firmware from a copious amount of sites. Then do a custom restore using that firmware using the latest iTunes . You can Jailbreak all the way up to the latest Beta of iOS which presently is 4. The only drawback is that, sure you have an untethered jailbreak. But, you have no "Cydia". You can install Cydia manually via SSH, but not everyone is ssh savvy. And even if you do install Cydia via ssh, you still may run into some problems. Seeing how all these Beta jailbreaks where originally made for dev's only, some of the sources may not even be updated yet and will not work on iOS6. My best advice is to do what im doing. Just stay happy with the 5.1.1 UTJailbreak and wait for an "Official" Jailbreak release date.
Besides.... its not to far away guys.... trust me ;-)

Zephyr updated to 1.3.5 adds new gestures
One of the most popular jailbreak tweaks "Zephyr" was recently updated to 1.3.5. Now enabling a multitasking gestures. The new gesture is new feature, which adds a Notification Center-like grabber for each movement.
This tweak allows these features to come to your idevice:
1.) Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to close apps
2.)Switch between apps simply by swiping left or right from the edge
3.)Moving with ease to swipe up to see your multitasking switcher
4.)Now you can swipe to check notifications and widgets, like the weather
The grabber add-on dosent just work when you install, you need to enable the little grabber for each gesture via the Settings app
(Settings -> Zephyr). And just enable the grabber. A nice little touch for an already amazing tweak
Check out the demo at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCnYEXZbjCE&feature=player_embedded
It works on any 5.+ iOS and is a little pricey at 2.99. But i got it and its still one of my all time favorite apps.
Please let me know what you think by leaving me whatever feed back. Also you can follow me on twitter @ichuckydee -or- check out my FB page at Facebook.com/ichucky.dee. Thanks for reading.
T-Mobile urges associates to sell past the new iPhone in September
According to leaked images from a T-Mobile associate, the company plans on pursuing a campaign against the sales of the new iPhone5. The new iPhone is due out in late September, which ironically is when the "attack" on the iPhone will begin. September 21st, to be precise. The rumored release date of the new iDevice. (Hmmmm)
Apparently, a monthly "planner" of some sort was sent out to all associates, and one section was titled "Selling Against the iPhone", and is to start, again, on sept. 21st.
Again, the date of September 21st is just a wide spread speculation of the iPhone5's release date. But.....
Starting in September, the carrier will also be rolling out a "4g Monthly Sim Kit", which apparently may, or may not, work with the i5. But nonetheless, the more iPhone5's sold, the less "Sim Kits" sold, once again taking money out of T-Mobiles pocket. Obviously, a very bad thing for the carrier. (slap on iPhones wrist)
Also, this is not the first time that T-Mobile has "banded against" a product that they, themselves sell! Reportedly, a while back they pushed against the sales of the Droid "Edge", because it didnt cooperate correctly with their 3g network. And who would want to listen to a bunch of whining customers. Its not like they have a customer service department or anything ha.
Let me know what you think about this by letting me know in the comments below. Or you can follow me on twitter @ichuckydee or e-mail at ichuckydee6885@gmail.com. Or you can "friend me on my *NEW* Facebook Facebook.com/ichucky.dee

7 GREAT TWEAKS TO MAKE YOUR SPRING BOARD AND DOCK MORE FUNCTIONAL AND PERSONALBE
Today it seems, that as soon as someone gets their first "iDevice" they "jailbreak" so they can customize it. But you really making the best of your devices use? Especially when you just put apps like, flashlight, and sounds boards.
Here is a great list of 7 Tweaks that will make your spring board attractive, give it more utilization. and better yet ...Make it your own.
1.) Five-colum springboard (free)- Its says what it does on the name. and with that feature you now able to put 20 Apps on your springboard instead of just 16
2.) Five-icon Dock (free)- Again, "it's in the name" this way you don't have to leave the "odd App out". You can now put five on your dock. or if you want way more than that......
3.)Infinidock-(.99) This great tweak allows for you to put any chosen apps you want on to your dock. Wether it be 3,6, or 100 it doesn't matter. Infinidock will just turn them into one big rolling index of Apps of 5 at a time. And at .99 cents, i think its an amazing catch.
4.) Icon Renamer (free)- With this great app you can change the old time dried up names of any app you want to anything. From Pictures to Pics, or Messages to SMS. Whatever you want.
5.)Gridlock (1.99) Gridlock is one of the more pricy tweaks. But once you have it you will will never want to let it go. It works simply by allowing you to put an app where ever you choose to on the spring board with out it being "magically" dragged back to the end of the line, with the rest of your apps. Works seamlessly and yes, its addicting when you start making patterns.
6.) MultiCon Mover (free)- This Tweak is one of the best time savers you will ever get from Cydia. It allows you to select and move whatever app(s) you want to where ever you choose so on the spring board. You just simply hold one an App that you would like to move, once it shakes, tap it again and a red check will appear. Now continue tapping all the apps you would like to move. And when ready hold the last one down and slide them all together as a group to whatever folder or page on the spring board you would like.
7.)Weather Icon (free)- This tweak will change your dreary old Weather icon, into a vibrant new display of the weather outside. All sized down to the the size of the App icon. So if it 77 degrees and raining outside. Look at the icon and it will have raindrops and the temperature. Very simple and pleasing to the eye.

HOW TO BOOST YOUR WIFI SIGNAL FOR YOU iDEVICE
I was going to make a vlog on how to do this, but it is raining so hard that i could barely hear myself think. So instead, i will break it down for you in good old "how to" form for you all. Hope you guys can benefit from this as i did. Keep in mind you must have a jailbroken iDevice to do this process. Sorry.
Any questions or comments please contact us on twitter @ichuckydee -or- FaceBook *NEW* www.facebook.com/ichucky.dee -or- as always you can email the big guy direct at ichuckydee6885@gmail.com
Thank you and ENJOY:-)
- Open up Cydia and go to "manage". and your now going to want to enter a new source
- Hit "edit" on the top right then "add" on the top and the "add"
- In the URL box that appears type "cydia.hackulo.us."
- Then "add source" and wait for it to do its normal loading ploy
- Once done go to "search" and search for "Wi fi fo fum" (sounds silly i know)
- it will be the first to pop up and install. Now this will have an icon on your springboard and it is extremely easy to figure out.
- Open up Wififofum on you spring board and just select the WiFi provider's signal that you would like to "boost".

CYDELETE FROM THE BIGBOSS ON CYDIA
How annoying is is when you think you find a great app/tweak from cydia, download it and it either doesn't work, or just plain sucks!!! And now the even more annoying part has yet to come. No you have the daunting task of going back into Cydia, wait for it to load, then open "manage", then "Packages". After you do all that, you still have to search through your "Packages", and if your like me you have a long search ahead of you. Once you finally find it , you have to tap "modify", and then finally, "uninstall". I don't know about you but after all that I'm ready for a freakn nap!!!
Well a little known App is actually out there that can help you avoid that whole, "head-dragging" process. The App is actually called "CyDelete". It's one of those beautiful App's, that once downloaded, you never have to look at it again. Which means you wont have another App icon clogging up your damn spring board, (and if you have a 3gs8G you just cant be affording that lol)
CyDelete gets hidden in the background of your phone like a silent killer waiting on your call to attack. It works like a charm, everytime. And the best part is its FREE!!!! So go download it... NOW!!! It's available through the big boss repo, so you know its trusted.
Now once you have CyDelete installed, like i said you wont see it, and you have that one app in your target that just doesn't work, or it just wasnt what you thought it was. follow these 2....yes, 2, simple steps and you'll never have to deal with it again!
- hold on the app that you wish to kill (or remove, if your sensitive), and wait till it wiggles, and an "x" apears over its corner.
- and then..... you ready for this...... tapp the "x" and delete. (insert victory dance here!!!)
Nice and simple right? And you never had to even leave your spring board, or even put on your "thinking cap"!!!!

NEXT GENERATION IPHONE 5 SYNC CALBE
![]() |
New iPhone 5 cable leak |
We’ve already seen leaked photos and mock-ups of the rumored smaller dock connector for the upcoming iPhone 5, Along with the prototypes of that the actually phone will look like.Well, according to a bunch of rumors and reports, the next-generation iPhone will be graced with a smaller 9 or 8-pin dock connector and lose the current 30-pin connector.(waaaaaaaaaaaaa :-( lol) Furthermore, all of the iPhone 5 cases, housing and supossed, leaked panels, imply that it just might have a smaller dock connector.
Some Chinese Accessory maker, has been tweeting a picture of the purported iPhone 5 sync/USB cable to major news publications and websites. As you can see below, it looks pretty legit and does seem to feature a smaller 9 or 8-pin connector. (hope it was worth his job)
If this is the real deal, we’ll be seeing most iPhone accessory makers getting a similar kind of cable ready for the next-generation iPhone. Apple may, according to plenty of reports, announce the iPhone 5/new iPhone, a smaller iPad Mini and a new iPod Touch on September 12. This new smaller dock connector would be used in all of the new Apple products.
But what I Am curious about is, What about the rest of us with the old cord? Are we just being left in the dust with our old monster connectors? Or, do they expect us to all shell out hundreds, for this new phone just cause of a cord?
If apple does, only to continue at that point, to only comply with the smaller port. Then all the cool and new "toys" that the roll out with, us larger connector "kids" wont be able to play. :-(
But then again, they will probably just create an adapter and keep it out long enough for just about everyone to catch up then kill it off. lol. :-)
As always feel free to tweet us at @ichuckydee or friend us on FaceBook www.facebook.ichucky.dee or you can email the CEO of ichuckydee, personaly at ichuckydee6885@gmail.com
thanx and hope you enjoyed the read and forward it on :-)

FIRST MUST HAVE TWEAKS FOR YOUR NEW JAILBROKEN iPHONE, iPAD, OR iPOD
So you finally jailbroke your iOS 5.1.1 iDevice with Absinthe . Now what? Where to go from there? And is the Cydia store a little over whelming for you to just be beginning with? Well, I've put together a nice list of the absolute, first tweaks you need to get the most out of your "new" iDevice and optimize your experience. So here is (in my opinion, which you could mix and match with lists of others) a list of must have first apps/tweaks. ENJOY :-)
- SBSetting- a more in depth reach into your devices setting options (basically its like your settings on crack)
- 5 Icon Dock- it is what it is lol. It lets you add that one app to your dock that you just couldnt decide between one or the other.
- iFile- is an explorer of all the "strings" on your device and edit them as well. You can explore your device just as you would on "Windows explorer" (WARNING: IF YOU DO EDIT SETTINGS MAKE SURE YOU DO SO CORRECTLY OR ELSE YOU CAN BRICK YOUR DEVICE)
- GRID LOCK- (my favorite tweak) it allows you to place, drop and drag your app icons wherever you want to on the springboard. As apposed to the typical, one after another placement of the iOS's default placement.
- BIGIFY- this tweak allows you to change the app icon style. you can stretch it, skew it, shrink them, make them bigger, and even invert the icon colors. (there is no app icon for this tweak, as it is only accessible through the settings option)
- BARREL- This tweak changes the way you slide through your spring board. Instead of just sliding right to left, or left to right, it moves through the spring board in a cube style turn.
- PROTUBE HD- This app is amazing!!!! Favorite app, hands down!!! This app runs as YOUTUBE. But there is one little difference. While watching a music video, (or whatever) you will see an extra button on the right that is not on the normal YOUTUBE app. Tap it and you will be asked if you would like to save the complete file, mp3, or mp4 (video). so now you can save your favorite YT cover bands songs.
(Now the next two apps are not suggested, just letting people know there out there)
8.CRACKULOUS- Now this app works as a form of file sharing app for apps. You buy and app then open it with the program and "crack" it. From there it is put into a "pile" of other "cracked" apps for others to download for free. You play a kind of "Robin Hood".
9.INSTALLOUS- This app is kind of the "dump pile" for "Crackulous". Simply enough, you open it search the paid app you dont want to pay for, search through a list of people who "cracked" it previously. (again you can do this, but i suggest you pay the extra coin for the people who took the time to build them)
Well there ya go guys. My top apps/tweaks for newly jailbroken iDevices. Let me know what you think of them or what your favorites are. :-)

TURN TO HANG UP....
Hey guys, so i just wanted to tell you a little about a new tweak that was released on cydia, by the BIGBoss Repo today. In order to use this tweak, your iPhone will need to be jailbroken. If you need to learn how to jailbreak, just simply check my other posts and i have a video that will walk you through how to do it nice and easy.:-) That being said, let me tell you about the tweak.....
TURN TO HANG UP
Turn to hang up does exactly what it says lol.... check it guys.
So your sitting at your desk working, blogging, looking at porn, hahaha, whatever your doing, wheres your phone? Of course sitting right down next to you. And right while your getting over your writers block, finally getting back to work, or simply just found the "right" porn, then BAM!!!! Your boss, best friend, or..... dun dun dun... the wife is calling you. And you dont want to answer it. Simple all you got to do is this....
1)If your phones screen is pointing up (which obviously it probably is) and the "unwanted" calls. Simply pick it up and place it face down....thats it. They hear it continue to ring until it reaches voice mail, and you hear NOTHING!!!!! NIIIICCCEEEE :-)
2) There is also another way you can "politely" ignore the "unwanted". If your device is in a docking device, simply pick it up and give it a lit shake, it will silence and the process will happen. It will ring through and thats that...
TURN TO HANG UP CAN BE DOWNLOADED THROUGH THE BIGGBOSS REPO IN CYDIA.
ENJOY :-)

USE DOUBLETWIST AS AN "ITUNES" FOR YOUR ANDROID DEVICE ON MAC
Well if your like me and have an android device and are using a mac instead of a PC, then you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to figure out how to SYNC your music, photos, and videos with the Droid to your Mac. Well wait no more my friends!!!! A while back the good people at Doubletwist came up with a solution for us "confused" iPhone or Droid folks. And the best part it is FREE!!!!!! (unless you want to use its blue tooth capability. Which in that case you will need to pay a small monthly fee) but all functions and capabilities are open on the free app.
Double twist is an amazingly user friendly app that functions almost exactly as iTunes does, but solely for our Android devices. It still has the same device settings, drag and drop features and an even better media layout. And in my opinion, has an even better media type (music, photos, videos) syncing option.
Now all you will need is...
- Your Android device
- A Macbook (i use the new pro), or an iMac
- And your usb cable
Next, you will need to download these 3 things (all free)
- You will need to DL the double twist app on both your Mac and Droid.. (MAC then the Droid app which is available in the Android Market (or the "play store" as Google calls it now.).)
Now once you have worked your way through the install which is so incredibly easy to do i bet my 2 year old son could do it
- open up Double twist on your Mac, connect your Droid via the USB cable and when prompted to do so on your Android, connect as "Mass Storage"
- You will see mid way down on the left column your Droid icon will pop up as an iPhone would in iTunes.
- Now open up Vuze, and find what you want to download, and go for it. You can also Google search for a torrent. (Which i don't condone torrents, but hey whatever floats your boat ;-) and wait for it to finish Downloading
- Once the file is finished downloading, simply add it to Double twists library by the following directions. File>open>Vuze Downloads, and simply select any or all files.
- Once the files have finished importing into Doubletwist all you have to simply do now is, "Drag -N- Drop them onto your Android icon on the left...
(be sure to eject the device through double twist once you are finished the sync or the files will be all screwy and you'll have to do it all over again)
And that's about it guys and gals. Now you can use your Android device with Double twist on your Mac. The same way you would as if it were an iPhone on iTunes. I hope you all found this to be of help.
Well until next time, As always let me know what you think in the comments below. You can also follow me on twitter for my daily updates on anything from iTech, Android, Hacking as well as many more topics. @ichuckydee . Or you can always email @ ichuckydee6885@gmail.com.

HOW TO USE ANDROID APPS ON YOUR MACBOOK, AIRMAC, OR IMAC
Now us Mac users can use Android apps on our desktop thanks to "App Player" by Bluestacks. "App Player" is an Android app emulation that allows you to play Android games (some of which are also available through iTunes) and apps to use on your OS system. Bluestacks works on any OS system.
However, the app only supplies 20 apps as to date. They are currently in the process of working on delivering more Android apps to the program. Currently this is the list of available apps...
- Air Control lite
- Angry birds in space
- Basketball Shot
- Cut the Rope
- Diamond Blast
- Drag Racing
- Elastic World
- Fruit Ninja
- (a help app for the app)
- Jewels Legand
- Magic Piano
- Men In Black 3
- Paper Toss
- Pulse
- Seesmic
- Sprinkle Free
- Tower Defense
(Some of these apps are paid apps through the android market and iTunes. But again, tons more will be added soon)
You can download Bluestacks here....Click Here
This application is so unbelievably easy to install that i'm not even going to insult you with how to install it.
ENJOY :-)

NO JAILBREAK FOR APPLE TV 3...... BOOO!!!
A quick note for my readers that have been patiently waiting for a
jailbreak for the Apple TV third generation. According to a recent tweet by my fellow hacker and iOS hacker extraordinaire Pod2g, no one is currently working on a jailbreak for the Apple TV 3.
This doesn’t really come as a surprise. The Apple TV has always been the iOS device with the least amount of attention from jailbreak hackers, likely because it is much less exciting than the iPhone or iPad…(…)

HOW TO MAKE YOUR ANDROID DEVICE LOOK LIKE AN iPHONE
Android vs. iPhone
The Android OS and iPhone iOS are two completely different operating systems. People either swear by there iPhone and loath Androids. Or, they will love the Droid and ignore the iPhone. It all stems down to Mac or PC in my opinion. So why would you want to make your Android device look like a damn iPhone? Well some people (myself included) want to enjoy the best of both worlds with a sort of "faux" operating system. Even tho in the end, your still on and Android/Lynux OS.
Whatever the case may be, someone, somewhere got the idea and created the option for you to do so, with an extremely user friendly app called “Espier Launcher”. This app also works on your tablet if you want to camouflage it as an iPad. Cool right? (well i think so at least.) Not that the app isnt easy enough to install and run but i will show you a "step by step" that will work for both your Android device and your tablet.....enjoy :-)
- Open up your Android Market app or ("play store" as most new devices have it labeled)
2. Next simply search for "Espier Launcher" and download then
3. Install and select "use by default"
4. Enjoy....
That's all folks. Now you can run your Android/tablet as an iPhone. You can create folders as you would on a normal iPhone. And just like the real thing, you can hold, drag, and, drop (on the "X") to simply delete/uninstall an app. Hope you guys liked it.
And as always, feel free to comment, tweet, or E-mail me with any and all questions

JAILBREAK IOS 6 BETA 4 WITH 5.1.1 (CURRENT) REDSNOW
Apple unleashed iOS 6 beta 4 this afternoon with several minor changes and the glaring omission of the stock YouTube app. iOS 6 is expected to make its public debut this fall alongside the next iPhone, but for now the software is entrusted to the hands of the developer community.
Those who know what they’re doing will be pleased to know that iOS 6 beta 4 can be jailbroken with the current version of the popular RedSn0w tool.
iPhone Dev Team hacker and frontman MuscleNerd confirmed that the current version of RedSn0w (0.9.13 dev 3) on Mac and Windows will in fact jailbreak iOS 6 beta 4. Just make sure you point RedSn0w at the iOS 6 beta 3 IPSW file.
This jailbreak is tethered, and it’s even more limited than normal because Cydia won’t even be installed. (If you would like to learn how to install cydia via SSH, just refer to my earlier blogs.)
Jailbreaking the iOS 6 beta is for developers who want to update their Cydia packages for the new OS and test compatibility. The rest of us will have to wait for a stable, public release in the coming months.

HOW TO USE A DROID WITH MAC PT 2
Last night i blogged about how to use your droid with a mac... it has worked for some but not all. So here are a few other ways you can get-er-done lol :-)
As Mac users, we’re often expected to fit within the lines of the Apple “ecosystem” – a Mac, iPhone, and maybe even an iPad. But the fact of the matter is that for many people, using something other than an iOS device just makes sense.
With that in mind, I’m going to try to break down those preconceived notions and help you get the most out of your Android device by using it in conjunction with your Mac. Read on and I can almost guarantee you’ll be surprised by what “Droid Does”, with the help of your Mac.
The first is to install a great (and free) app called DoubleTwist on both your Mac and Android device (link). DoubleTwist is best summed up as iTunes for people without iPods. You’ll get access to Google Play (née Android Market), a huge podcast library, and Amazon’s full MP3 Store. This solution works really well if you don’t want to change the way you’ve managed your media. It’s a traditional style “Jukebox” app, which is beginning to feel antiquated. Moreover, you’re still on your own for buying anything outside of Music and Podcasts.

The second solution is what I’d recommend for most people; and that’s
to jump into the Google “ecosystem”. Google’s Play store offers music
downloads on the cheap (with a free digital locker service), movie
purchases and rentals, apps, and even eBooks. Google’s Music player
works great with the Mac – it doesn’t have it’s own app, but the web
based solution should be more than enough for most people.
Additionally, if you already have a Music library you’d like to store with Google, you can install the free Music Manager tool (link) to upload it seamlessly to the Google Cloud.
As far as TV shows, you are basically out of luck. Apple has a stranglehold on the cheap-day-after downloads market. You could try Hulu Plus, but be warned, the selection is almost as limited as the price is high (zing). If you already have video files on your Mac that you’d like to put on your Android device, just use the free Miro Video Converter to make the formats play nicely. It has Android presets built in, so conversion really is as easy as one click.
As for eBooks, although Google’s solution works just fine, Kindle is still king. Your Kindle books are readable almost everywhere, on almost every device. In addition the Kindle catalog puts Google’s to shame, and as if you weren’t already convinced, Amazon offers a free Kindle app for the Mac. The choice really couldn’t be more black-and-white.

If you’re looking to purchase apps, your two best choices are the
Amazon Store and Google Play. You can manage your purchases using web
interfaces on both, and the difference really comes down to price,
selection, and of course, your personal preference. Either way, it’s not
like you’re going to be running Android apps on your Mac.
Finally, since Android Phones store all their photos in an industry standard “DCIM” folder, your Mac should detect it as a digital camera as soon as you plug it in. From there you’ll be able to manage your pictures in any program you’d like, although iPhoto is always a great place to start. If you cringe at the thought of ever having to plug your phone into your Mac, consider using Dropbox’s “Automatic Upload” feature to wireless beam photos to your Dropbox folder on the desktop.

First off, if you’d like to use your iCloud email, contacts and,
calendar on your Android device, you’re in luck. On the Mac end of the
equation, just set up your iCloud account in System Preferences and be
on your way. On the Android end, the solution and setup isn’t as
seamless as it would be to use Google’s just own services, but hey –
there are some things worth working for.
To use your iCloud mail, go into Mail account setup on your Android device and enter your credentials laid out in this guide. For contacts, use a free CardDAV app like this, and use “http://contacts.icloud.com” as your server. From there, just enter in your username as usual and don’t forget to check “SSL”. As I mentioned before, there still isn’t a way to use iCloud’s calendar with your Android device.
For most people, though, Google’s services should be more than enough. They’re much more friendly across platforms and work great with your Mac. Setup is surprisingly simple , just go into System Preferences and add your Google account. You’ll have options to sync your email and notes, calendar, and even your Google Chat. For contacts, just follow this Apple guide.
Let me know if this helped you out, or if you have any other questions. Leave a comment , tweet or e-mail

Manage your Media
Gone are the days where carrying anything but an iPhone meant you needed an iPod of some sort. In fact, many Android phones such as HTC’s “Beats” branded line offer an arguably better media experience than the iPhone. If you’re on the cutting edge of web technology, and you already use a service like Rdio or Spotify for your music, setup for an Android device with your Mac is about as easy as it gets – just install the respective app on both devices and let the Internet’s syncing abilities work their magic. If you’re like most people, though, your media library is filled with good ol’ MP3s and any number of video formats. In that case you’ll probably want to look into one of two solutions. The first is to install a great (and free) app called DoubleTwist on both your Mac and Android device (link). DoubleTwist is best summed up as iTunes for people without iPods. You’ll get access to Google Play (née Android Market), a huge podcast library, and Amazon’s full MP3 Store. DoubleTwist is more than just a media player.
Additionally, if you already have a Music library you’d like to store with Google, you can install the free Music Manager tool (link) to upload it seamlessly to the Google Cloud.
If you miss the feel of a native app, consider a solution like Fluid to make your own in seconds.
For Movies, Google offers a similarly simple solution: rentals and
purchases can be made from either your computer or Android device and
they play back on both perfectly. Of course, you’ll probably just use
Netflix (link) anyway. As far as TV shows, you are basically out of luck. Apple has a stranglehold on the cheap-day-after downloads market. You could try Hulu Plus, but be warned, the selection is almost as limited as the price is high (zing). Kindle for the Mac is an indispensable tool.

Email, Calendar, and Contacts
Now that we’ve covered all that media nonsense, let’s get down to business with your email, calendar, and contacts. While there are just about a million ways to do this, I’m going to show you how to hack Apple’s iCloud into working with Android and get Google’s apps working nicely on your Mac. Be warned, though, iCloud calendar is not available through Android, and everything else requires some trickery.
Adding a Google Account in Mac OS X Lion.
Bonus Round
I’ve covered quite a bit in this article, but this is really just the tip of the Android and Mac iceberg. If you want to push compatibility between the two even further, check out some of these apps and tools below. I won’t go to in-depth on them here, but we’ve covered most on either Android or Mac.AppStorm.- AirDisplay – Wouldn’t it be nice to add another display to your Mac? How about if it was wireless? If that sounds like something you’d like look no further.
- DroidCloud – This app is the answer to many a CloudApp fan’s prayers; a native Android client.
- AirSync – This app does quite a bit, including giving your Android Phone the ability to stream content over AirPlay. That’s worth every penny.
Let me know if this helped you out, or if you have any other questions. Leave a comment , tweet or e-mail

creating a custom root for the Android LG viper 4g LTE
Hi everybody!!!! As you all know i am always talking about mac this and iphone/ipod that. Well as of recently due to personal issues i have "temporarily" lost access to my iPhone.... (i know it sucks and the issue wil be resolved shortly ;-( ) BUT!!!!!....
I have taken this time off ( which couldnt have come at a worse time, as i finaly just got my new macbook pro) to venture off into another direction... ANDROID ROOTING. And yes it is annoying as all hell and if you hate tweeting around with files or dont have any knowledge or even know Lynix then i suggest u stick with ur normal iDevice or droid...
As a temporary fix to no iPhone i have recently acquired the new LG VIPER 4G LTE. Very nice phone in my opinion, contrary to all the reviews. Its sleek and fast and the display, even tho only 4.5 inches (slightly bigger than the 3gs) is very clear and great. And, for all you green freaks out there, the device is made of 50% recycled materials and the box is 100% recycled cardboard, as is all the manuals that we all love to never read. The only issues i have run into are. First, this is the first device i have ever bought that dosent have f***n ear buds lmao. But who dosent have a set of skull candies sitting around. Also, is with the face book app, which apparently i am not the only one (not just LG VIPER), as it has over 800k 1 star ratings. But im more of a twitter guy than FB so it dosent bum me out that much :-)
Well, as everyone knows Jailbreaking is the "Hacking" for iPhones/Pads and Pods. But, when it comes to Androids you dont have a nice simple one click and wait for your phone to now be your best friend. You have to search for your droid make and modle and find a program that someone made. THERE IS NO ONE UNIVERSAL ROOTING PROGRAM which SUUUUCCCCKKKSSS.
So, that all being said presently i am now working on a root for everyone who wants to ROOT their LG Viper 4G LTE. As soon as i am done with it it i will post the download link for both WIN/ an MAC :-)
Any questions or comments, as usual please feel free to comment tweet or email me :-)

HOW TO JAILBREAK IOS6 BETA 3!!!!
Now that the iPhone Dev Team has released RedSn0w 0.9.13dev3, it’s easy to jailbreak the latest iOS 6 beta 3 release. This jailbreak will also work with previous versions of iOS 6 beta, such as iOS 6 beta 2.
Bear in mind that this is still a tethered jailbreak, and it will not install Cydia on your device. Since you must point to the current beta firmware, you need to be a developer so that you can access iOS 6 beta 3.
If you meet these requirements, then step right inside as we walk you though using RedSn0w 0.9.13dev3 to jailbreak an iPhone 4 running iOS 6 beta 3
Step 1: Download and run RedSn0w 0.9.13dev3.
Step 2: Place your device into DFU mode.
Step 3: In RedSn0w click Extras > Select IPSW and point to your iOS 6 beta 3 firmware. RedSn0w should display a message stating that the firmware was successfully identified.
Step 4: Go back to the main page of RedSn0w and click jailbreak. Once preliminary configuration is complete, ensure Install SSH is selected, and continue. The jailbreak process should finish to completion.
Step 5: Once back to the Home screen on your device, place the device back into DFU mode, and perform Step 3 again.
Step 6: Click Just boot under the Extras menu subset, and RedSn0w will perform a tethered boot on your device.
That’s all there is to it, your device should now be jailbroken running iOS 6 beta 3. Keep in mind that while this will install SSH on your device, it will not install Cydia. If you want Cydia, then try the iOS 6 Cydia installation tutorial.

SAFARI DOWNLOAD MANAGER FOR IOS6
iOS power-users can finally chill out, the popular jailbreak utility Safari Download Manager is finally compatible with iOS 5. The tweak, developed by Dustin Howett, gives us a large amount of control over your mobile downloads.
SDM has long-since been a favorite in the jailbreak community, but has recently been all-but-forgotten due to its lack of iOS 5 support. But now it’s back, and better than ever. Here’s my input on SDM beta 2...
Safari Download Manager 2.0 still integrates seamlessly into mobile Safari. Once installed, you will be able to download practically any file type to your iOS device that you would be able to download on your desktop.
SDM also allows you to download multiple files at once (up to 10), and choose which folder each one goes into. Out of the box, the tweak supports a number of common file types, but you can add additional types as you see fit.
As you might expect from a high-powered tweak like this, it’s a bit pricey. Obviously, previous owners will get the update for free. But new customers will have to fork over $5. If you’re interested, you can find SDM in Cydia, in the BigBoss repo.
But there are always pirate repos you can get it from. i DO NOT condone this act but if you find it deemed necessary then please support the dev. and donate :-)
