iOS 6.1.3 may kill Evasi0n

Within the first day of the untethered Evasion jailbreak over 1 million devices where cracked.  As it stands this was the first Jailbreak for the new iPhone 5.  According to one of the creators apple has been working extreamly hard on patching up some, if not all 5 of the errors in the iOS that allows for the hack to work.

It is still not yet clear when a new untethered break will be released. But something tells me that we should not be to worried.  If we can all remember back to when iOS6 was first going to be released.  Hacker POD2g (one of the creaters of the Absinthe Jailbreak) released via his twitter acct, that he would NOT be working on a untethered jailbreak for the new ios because iOS6.o.1 was already in the making. So we left it in others trust to create a new hack. And there it was.

So what does this mean for everyone running on the Evasi0n Hack?... i would recommend that everyone just sit tight and wait and not to update their ios just yet. And remain patient as someone always comes through.

Grow up!!! unlocking is illegal!

WTF!!!! I know it has been about a month sense it has been ruled that unlocking a new phone is illegal.  I have held off long enough, thinking that this idiocy would be thrown out by now, but no.  It still stands.  As of January 29th it is illegal to unlock YOUR new Smart phone. This is also where people become confused.

Jailbreaking your iphone or rooting your Android are not the same as Unlocking them.  When you unlock a phone all you are doing is making that phone "free" of its need to be on that one service provider. THATS IT!!!!! However, you can still have the provider unlock it for you which was once upon a time free.  But now if you want to "legally" unlock your device you have to pay the provider to do it for you. (Cheap way for them to make a buck... ASSHOLES!) Other than a possible receipt that they may give you for doing it. How they hell are they going to know the difference? And if a cop stops you cause he sees you on a smart phone, is he gonna fine you if your sim card says att and your phone says tmobile? They could... but isnt there more important things for them to worry about... idk... like crack and people beating their kids? Just saying...

Any who, Jailbreaking and rooting are just modifications that you can apply to the devices OS's software so you can tweak it so that it can run to your liking.  I could go more in depth about it but we'd be here all day.

The thing that really pisses me off about how "Unlocking" your phone is now illegal is the simple fact that it is YOUR PHONE!!! If im willing to shell out 3-500 bucks for a phone i WILL choose what provider I WANT to be on. For the mean fact that its MINE.  When you buy a car do you have to go with whatever insurance company they tell you to? NO!!! I hope and pray that this stupidy is disregarded soon.  The mere fact that the US government is now worried about peoples cell phones and not murder and people starving is utter madness.

Im not going to get to upset over it because look at all the spoofing software that is out... i dare someone to track everyone who unlocks there phone and fine them... But i for one will continue to.... follow this ridiculous law... ;)

Root any android tablet up to 4.0.3

If you have been waiting for a nice and easy way to root your android tablet, here ya go. The guys at "one click root" have created a super easy way to root for the "Not so tech savy". This method works for android devices with OS4.0.3 or older.  If your running a newer version, hold tight its on the way!

The download will install after download and walk you through the process fairly quick.

You can download one click root here!

However a few devices may need to have there drivers installed and that list can be found here as well.  I suggest you try the program first before downloading a driver, as many will work without.  The drivers will help "less" common devices.  So dont freak out if you have an Acer Tablet. You may have the more "common" model. so give it a try first. If not download the driver after.

The process is simple....

  1. download and install the program...
  2. connect your tablet via usb synce cord.
  3. enable debug mode in "developer setting"
  4. Run the program

*note... if it dosent recognize your device, then install the driver, then run again*

Faceniff... friend or foe?

*****Before i get into this i woould just like to say that this is for educational purposes only.  What you choose to do after reading this is solely up to you and i am not responsible.******

So there is an apk that as been around for a while that is fun to mess with your family with.  But some people take it to far and use it in public settings and from what i gather some people have actually gotten arrested not just for using it but by using it to obtain sensitive personal information. Which i DO NOT CONDONE! This App is called "FaceNiff".

Faceniff is a clever apk that worked by taking your wifi network and detecting all accounts that are logged onto websites, or web sessions. That are being used only on Laptop or desk top.  Not mobile i.e. androids or iphones.  The apk works from your rooted Android device and is not detectable by the wifi admin or firewall.  Yes it seems cool, but only when you are at home messing with your family And thats it!! Its actually kind of scary to think that you could be at Mcdonlads or even subway buying something on amazon and bam!!! some kid has all your info.  NOT COOL!!

The list of sites this app can detect are...
  1. facebook.com
  2. youtube.com
  3. amazon.com
  4. amazon.co.uk
  5. amazon.de
  6. tuenti.com
  7. nk.pl
  8. twitter.com
  9. tumblr.com
  10. meinvz.net
  11. studivz.net
  12. blogger.com
  13. vkontakte.ru
  14. vk.com
Again i only tell you this for informational and educational purposes.  People are downloading the latest and final version of this app from this torrent. They must have a torrent client on their device to do so on their rooted Android.

And be sure to check me out on FB @ https://www.facebook.com/JailbreakingAndAndroidRooting

To Lazy to read your tweets? Have siri do it for you

With the popular voice assistant introduced by apple, many other OS's have been forced to create there own.  But the reigning champ still remains Siri.  But as most of us jailbreakers and rooters, we know "if somethings good, We can make it better".  And so it was done. Within the short year and a half of Siri's short life, Hundreds of Tweaks have been released to the cydia store for all your jailbroken devices.
Here comes "Tweetfeed".  This new Tweak actually allows Siri to read through your tweets so you dont have to waste your time. It has simple user friendly settings and is simple to use.  You can get it though the Modmyi's repo on cydia for Free.

10 things apple could learn from android

Seriously?!! Apple is already planning on making a new iPhone? If the iPhone5 what such a crash and burn (as alot of people think), shouldn’t they be taking a a little time to improve on some of the features that the iPhones are lacking? Android OS has quite a few things that put them ahead of Apples iOS as it already stands. Not only on their operating system, but on their devices as well.
If Apple would take the time to add these few features to their devices, they might be able to kill the age old mobile question…  iPhone or Android?
  1.  Widgets- All android devices have those helpful widgets for most apps ready to roll as soon as you install then. (Facebook, Twitter..) They may not be everyones best friend at first.  But when your app drawer is vast and your home screen already has an ungodly amount off icons on it, it is nice to just move over to the next home screen and there it is.  Instead of searching through the app drawer for it. Where as, on the iPhones ALL homescreens ARE app drawers and thats it.
  2. APPS- When you get your Android it comes with the google play store. (your app store) And when you get your iPhone you have the APP Store. Nice and simple way to get your apps on both devices.  But what if you want an app that is not in the store? Or maybe you just didnt find what you where looking for?  Well with iPhones thats it. Sorry!!! (unless you want to jailbreak and void your devices warranty. But thats a topic for another day)  On Androids, if the google play store dosent have the app you are looking for, you can just go and download a 3rd party app store. (i.e. aptoide, and the list goes on) And you will eventually find what you are searching for, without running the risk of “upsetting” the manufacturer.
  3. Storage(Micro SD)- Yes iPhones come in 8g, 16g, and 64g models. But what about if you want removeable or just simply, “more” storage?  No iPhones come with Micro SD card slots, as all Droids do.  They come in handy when you are a music nut and dont want to clog up your devices internal storage and slow it down.  You can simply just store it on the removable disk.  And say your at a friends house and they love the music, but you just dont have the usb cord.  Well, no worries just pop out the disk and there you go. Right on their computer.
  4. Batteries and battery life- We all know very well that the battery life on any smartphone, for lack of better word, sucks!  Unless you get app killer (iPhone), or Advanced app killer(android), to either time out unused apps or tap an icon to do so when you see fit.  But what about when your battery starts to bite the dust? With an Android you can just pop it out the and buy a new one or have insurance send you a new one. On iPhones your outta luck. Built in batteries? Great idea when you want people to just buy a whole new phone. But who has 3-500 to shell out like that? I know i dont.
  5. Screen size- Androids screens seem to be growing with every new device that gets released. Right when we thought that 5″ screens were big they came out with The Note and then the Note II. iPhones? Not so much.  As the newer models were slowly released the screens got slightly larger. Great! But then the iPhone5 was released and we were promised this much larger screen. Only to be deceived with a longer and more narrower screen. Yay
  6. Keyboard and texting- The iPhones keypad is still the same and as basic as the day the original iPhone came out.  So i cant really say that they have changed it for the worse.  But when you look at how far the Android keyboard has come it blows apple outta the water.  When you look at how text savy people have become, you want to be able to “speed text”.  So now Androids are equipped with “Swipe” and other fast texting  methods.  And we cant forget about the good old  slide out keyboard that some people cant seem to ever get enough of.
  7. Emailing- Nowadays, everyone emails along with their texting. Weather it be for work, school, forums, whatever, its a must.  But for some reason Apple has figured that if your emailing from a phone, why need attachments?  Well thats a huge drawback for organizations who are looking for “company phones”.  If your on the go and need to view or forward a Powerpoint, Excel, or any kind of file attachment, you can only do so from a Droid. Sorry Apple.
  8. Universal Charging Ports- Apple had this right all the way up to the i5.  You could buy one charger for all your devices. From the iPhone to the ipod, to the iPad, you could use all the same chargers and hook them all up to your iHome dock and it was nice and simple. Android soon started following in suit. The difference between the two is that Androids stuck with it. The iPhone 5 was released a short time a go with a new “better” smaller pin connecter.  Sure its more convinient then the larger pin connector.  But what about all the cool stuff you had bought like your iHome dock? Well it looks like you gotta cough up some more money and go buy a connector for them. (Oh look! Apple sells those. Go figure)
  9. File exploring- When you want to poke around you devices files and copy Images and texts or files to your PC or laptop, your in luck! With an Android that is.  All you have to do is put it in sync mode plug it in and your golden.  Not so easy with an iPhone tho. On a normal stock iPhone you cannot do this.  The only way to do so is to, once again, Jailbreak your device, and install a device string app. All the while voiding your warranty.
  10. Processors- When you look at the original iPhone and compare its speed to the iPhone5 sure, it is insanely faster. But when you compare 3,4,to 5? Not a huge difference. But somehow Androids are being pumped out one after another with crazy processing speeds. You can grab a cheap “basic” Android such as the LG Viper 4G LTE and that has a dual core processor with 4g’s of ram. And if that isnt enough you can also Root you android device (much like iPhone jailbreaking as it voids the warranty) and download an overclocking app that will make it even faster. But beware if you overclock your device to much you will literally fry it.  Apple iPhones… it is what it is. And if you have to many apps, you WILL slow down.
With all of these things being said.  If Apple picked up even 3 of these things, the iPhone would be the end all be all of the smartphone world. And i would like to just say that even just putting in an SD slot would help out. Not only with the storage but the performance of the device. Ultimately, isnt that all we really want?

iPhone Jailbreaking VS Android Rooting

So the biggest debate among mobile tech has to be the iPhone or the Android.  Both are great platforms, which both have their advantages and disadvantages.  But once you get bored with the regular OS of the phone you may want to "Root" or "Jailbreak" your device to free up options outside of the manufacturers limitations.
I have done both methods to both the android and iPhone.  I definitely have a preferred platform now after doing so.
While both methods allow you to move beyond the structures of what the distributors have set up, they both also void your devices as well.  Now on to the fight...

When you want to Jailbreak your iPhone there are a couple of nice and easy one click programs available for both windows and mac OS's.  But when you want to Root your android device you have to search for a program specific to your devices make and model, and if you cant find it you can search for a "universal Root".  But "universal" apparently only means the newest devices or whatever the guy who programmed it seems to feel are worthy to be on the list.  And if you want to Root your android on a mac!!!.... FORGET IT!!!! there is one or two programs which support 10 devices total out of hundreds..  You could with the ADK kit download... if you know html or any other codding language.  (cause everyone does right?)....  So i think its clear to see that ROUND 1 goes to ..JAILBREAKING!!!

Next we have the post Breaking or Rooting round.  iPhone OS's are nice an simple to follow 5, 5.1, 5.1.1,6 and so on. so all devices are the same when it comes to looking for that program.  So once you jailbreak you will either have a tethered or untethered jailbreak. (see previous posts for difference)
Once you ROOT your Android thats it no more programming from a computer unless you want to un-Root (but that dont count ha) Unlike a "tethered" JB where you will have to connect everytime you want to reboot.  Soo Round 2... ANDROID

This round is all about the ease of apps.  This one is nice and simple..  Once you Jailbreak your iPhone all your "jailbroken" apps are available on the Cydia store. Thats it nice and simple you have a nice search engine to look through repos and devs and download the stuff you like.  Androids on the other hand dont have an app repo. You have to look through the market for rooted apps or join a forum to find new apps to download off the interweb. Its clear to see that this one is a KO and goes to Jailbreaking.

The final round will be the customization and moding round.. While both platforms have a cornucopia of apps and packs that will let you chance themes and fonts.  The iphone has winterboard which lets you change just about everything from one app. From backgrounds to fonts and sounds to strings.  But, on the droids you can mod the roms and overclock your devices to make them go faster, only if you know what your doing because you can burn out your processor and brick your phone like nothing before. Im calling this a draw.. (hate me if you must)

After all is said and done i have to lean more towards the iPhone Jailbreak.  Its more user friendly and easier.. Which in the end is what everyone one really wants.  But to each his own. Some may like the challenge of coding like myself but the average person wants it done nice, fast, and with minimal effort.  And im not just saying iphone because i prefer them.  I have a droid

Let me know what you think in the comments below or if i forgot anything. Also f there is anything you would like me to add.. Follow me at @ichuckydee  Thanks
