 How To Place Two App Shortcuts On Lock Screen Using AppSlide

      You can now add two app shortcuts on your lock screen with this jailbreak a tweak  “AppSlider.” The tweak is pretty smart. It allows you to add two apps for easy access on your lock screen. You don’t have to go through the Home Screen to search for those apps you often use.

 We’ve seen different jailbreak tweaks that provide shortcuts with gestures, sliders and of course, the functional Activator. Basically, the tweak adds aesthetics on the lock screen. You can customize the two apps you want to access.


We can’t live with a couple of apps, right? We bet you have arranged your apps on first page of Home Screen to access them all. However, with this tweak, your two favorite apps will be non-negotiable even on the lock screen. This jailbreak tweak was developed by Ron Melkhior. He also developed some of the tweaks we’ve covered such as CamSlideShow and SmallBanners on Notification Center.
For those of you who want to place the two app shortcuts, simply go to Cydia, tap Search and type “AppSlider”
After installation, you can configure the tweak on Settings app. Toggle the Enabled On under its General settings and set the Number of Apps in Two. The tweak allows you to choose the apps you want to place on “First App” and “Second App”

 I set my two favorite apps I can’t live without. I checked the Dictionary app for the First App, and You Version’s Bible for the Second App. Make sure you tap the Apply button at the upper-right corner for the changes to take effect.

get IOS6 on IOS5 now with winterboard

Jailbreak tweaks such as InstaSocial, IOS6 photo have already brought some of the IOS6 features to IOS5.

You can now give your jailbroken iPhone running iOS 5.x.x an iOS 6 makeover thanks to a new WinterBoard theme released on Cydia.

The free iOS 6 Theme as the name suggests brings some of the iOS 6 user interface elements and icons to iOS 5.

The WinterBoard theme brings the following iOS 6 UI elements:

• Phone Dialer gets the sleek white theme with black bar at the bottom and blu% bar at the top
• The black theme for the "Now Playing" section in the Music app
• Changes the color of the status bar to match the app
• The theme also installs a fake app icon for the Passbook app
• iOS 6 Wallpapers
•  You can give your jailbroken iPhone the iOS 6 makeover by following these simple instructions:
• Launch Cydia
• Tap on the Search tab, then Search for iOS 6 theme
• Select iOS 6 theme from the search results
• Then tap on the Install button, followed by the Confirm button
• After the theme is successfully installed, launch the Settings app and navigate to WinterBoard -> Select Themes
• Tap to Select [iOS 6] Theme, [iOS 6] StatusBar, [iOS 6] Dark NavigationBar and then press the Home button, which will automatically respring the SpringBaord.

The nice thing is if you don't like the color changes in the status bar, you can always deselect it from the WinterBoard settings.

That's it, you can now enjoy the look and feel of some iOS 6 UI elements on your iPhone running iOS 5.

springtomize 2

     Springtomize 2 is another iPhone tool that allows you to modify almost anything in IOS5. It takes full advantage of new iOS 5 features. For example, it can customize iOS 5 Notification Center by changing its color and transparency.

      Springtomize 2 can easily replace at least 3 or 4 tweaks that you probably have installed on your jailbroken iPhone 3gs iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S You can reduce the size and the number of rows and columns of your Springboard icons, which are usually 2 tweaks that have to be installed to do the same job.

 With Springtomize 2 you can customize your screen animation, lock screen, folders, status bar, and much more easily.

 Ill walk you through each of those features that are available in Springtomize 2 and I will show you how those iPhone tweaks work, and which ones are really useful.

The tweak is divided into components, each one of the component shown below reflect full featured tweaks for that specific area. It basically covers about every component of IOS5.

It is s available in Cydia for a low $2.99 but it is worth it since you would be saving on many other $0.99 hacks. After you install it, you can access all its features from Settings --> Springtomize. (or you can get it though a crack repo but i believe u should support our fellow developers)

Animation:

As you open and close apps, or when you open a folder, you will notice some clever animations on those actions.

  You can customize those animations with Springtomize. For example, you can modify the duration and the speed of the animation. Some of those animations are not really useful. Who would want to slow down the animations anyway.


However, there are some cool effects that you could use when you lock you iPhone. For example, you could make your iPhone locks like an old TV, and you can change the colore of this old tube TV. Moreover, the screenshot flash when you take a screenshot by pressing the home and power buttons at the same time, that flash color can be changed if you want.

 

Capabilities:

This area is full of features that your devise comes with by default. It is strange to disable any of those features from your iPhone 4S, but you might find a use for it.

Enable Panorama Capture:

There is one really really cool feature that is disabled by default on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, but with Springtomize 2, you will be able to enable it. It is called Panorama. This feature will allow you to take panoramic pictures with your iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S camera.
To enable or disable any of the features in this screen, you have to turn the master button "Custom Capabilities" ON. Then, you can turn on or Off whatever you select.

 Enabling Panorama allows you to take a panoramic picture. You can access the Panorama by going to your iPhone Camera, and tapping on Options, then Panorama

 A new screen will appear, that you probably never seen before with your iPhone 4S camera. The screen has a rectangle, and a line in the middle with an arrow that moves up and down as you move your iPhone down and up.

 You need to keep the iPhone vertical. The idea is that you are going to scan about 180 degrees of your environment by moving from left to right.
The arrow must always be on the line as you scan to get the best picture. Tap the camera button and start scanning your environment from left to right.
As you move in a steady speed keeping the arrow on the line, your picture will be captured in panorama!. The results are impressive, that I wonder why Apple disabled this cool feature.
Below is the panorama picture that was resulted from this scan. The more you keep the arrow on line with the center line, the better the picture, and the less black areas you will see at the top and bottom of the picture.

 You can then trim the top and bottom using the Crop function of iOS 5 camera application to clean the picture. The picture below was taken after some practice, and after using the crop feature of iOS5 camera.

Dock:

There are many iPhone icons hacks dedicated just to the Dock. With Springtomize 2, you could probably remove them all, and just use this single iPhone tweak. Five icon dock is one iPhone hacks that adds a fifth icon in the dock. With Springtomize 2, you can add up to ten icons in the dock. You can hide or show reflection, shadow, CoverFlow effect or even hide the dock all together.

Moreover, you can customize the shape of the dock by making the icons look Concave, Convex, or Convex (Outside). The sliders allow you to control how much concavity on the icons, and their effects. You need to experiment with those sliders to find a satisfying curve for how many icons you choose.

LockScreen:

The default lock screen on the iPhone only provide you a way to unlock your iPhone, with some information like the date and time.
However, some iPhone tweaks like Lock Info could give the iPhone lock screen very useful appearance and features.
Springtomize 2 allows you to tweak some of the lock screen components like adding seconds to the time, and increasing the time until the iPhone screen dims.

Show Camera:

One of the nice features of iOS5 was the addition of a Camera icon right next to the lock screen slider. To activate the iPhone camera icon, you have to double click on the home button while you are in the lock screen. Springtomize 2 allows you to enable this camera icon by default.Therefore, you don't need to double press the home button anymore

Lock Screen Dimming:

This could be useful if you have information displayed by LockInfro for example on the lock screen or if you have weather information on the lock screen. This delay could be very useful.

Custom Lock Screen Label:

If you move to the bottom of the Lockscreen page, you could also tweak the lock screen Slider in different ways. For example, you could hide the slider all together. Or you can add custom texts to the slider instead of the default "Slide to unlock". You can either enter any text you want, or select time, or time with AM/PM in the

Icons:

iPhone icons on the iPhone are very basic. The number of icons per screen is fixed to 16 icons, the size of the icons is fixed, and iPhone folders also have some default values that could be changed and completely customized with Springtomize.
One of the most important iPhone customization is the icons customization. I had 2 or 3 iPhone hacks from Cydia just to customize the iPhone icons. However, Springtomize 2 could now eliminate many of those iPhone icons hacks.

Increase icons Per Page:

This is one of the most useful iPhone icons hack you should consider if you have many iPhone application that you like to show on one screen. You can choose up to ten icons per line, and up to five rows per page. This will give you a total of 50 icons per page!

Reduce ions size:

This is a really cool feature available in Springtomize which is usually achieved by a separate iPhone hack. With Springtomize, you can tweak the size of iPhone icons on the home screens, on the iPhone dock, and in the iPhone task switcher.
Simply turn on the "Resize Icons" button and then tap on the "Size" below it to control the icon percentage size.


The picture below show iPhone icons reduced in size to 30% !. Maybe this is too small, but you can adjust the size however you like in percentage.

Other options available are hiding specific iPhone icons from the iPhone screens. You can select to hide Newsstand, or you can select any iPhone application from the "Choose Icons" option.

Folders:

iPhone folders are one of the most useful feature of iOS. The ability to drag and drop any icon inside a folder and organize your application with folders is one of the few iPhone customization available in iOS by default.
Springtomize 2 gives you more power to customize your folders. Many options are available, but the most useful one is the icon per line inside a folder.

  

App Switcher:

The iPhone task switcher is a nice iOS feature that allows you switch between applications quickly. Simply double click on the home button to access the task switcher dock, and then slide left and right to scroll through the open applications, or scroll all the way to the left to access the Music application and the volume slider.

More icons in Task Switcher:

One important tweak of the task switcher is that you can increase the icons to ten icons per page. Moreover, you can enable the task switcher edit mode. Normally, to enable edit mode in task switcher, you have to tap and hold on an icon until they wiggle.

Then you can tap the minus sign to kill that app. Springtomize 2 allows you to enable editing on open, which means the minus sign will be shown once you activate the task switcher. This will make it faster to kill an application if needed. You can also change the volume slider to brightness slider at the bottom in the task switcher if you like.

Time Machine:

This area of Springtomize 2 allows you to backup and restore your settings. You can also enable "Automatic Backup".

Make chrome ur browser

Do you love google chrome like me? How about making it your default browser on your iPhone? Well read in and I'll show you how :-)

A jailbreak app developer has just released a tweak that allows you to do just that.

Apple doesn't allow you to change the default browser, so you can't tell iOS to open links in Chrome.

BrowserChooser - as the name suggests, the new jailbreak tweak allows you to change the default browser to popular third-party iOS browsers such as Google Chrome, Opera Mini, iCab Mobile, Dolphin Browser and Atomic Browser.

All you have to do is follow these simple steps to change your the default browser on your iPhone or iPad:

Launch Cydia

Tap on the Manage tab

Tap on Sources

Then tap on the Edit button on the top right corner, followed by the Add button

Here enter the URL of Ryan'srepository: http://rpetri.ch/repo

Tap on the Add Source button

Tap on the Return to Cydia button when prompted

Now tap on the Search tab and search for BrowserChooser

Select BrowserChooser from the search results

Then tap on the Install button, followed by the Confirm button

After the jailbreak tweak is installed, it will prompt you to Restart SpringBoard

Tap on the Restart SpringBoard button and wait for your iPhone to respring

Then launch the Settings app
And navigate to BrowserChooser settings

Select Chrome as your default browser by tapping it


That's it, now when you open links in the Mail app, Twitter apps etc., they will open in Chrome rather than Safari.

What app is sucking the life outta your battery

Only one bad app will kill your battery. Only one app will keep its  location service on 24 hours, even when the app isn’t open. and all what you need to prevent it is to follow the steps :-)

 Let ume tell you that there are many apps that keep their location service on and to find out which one does, just do the following;

Step 1: Open your Settings app.

Step 2; Go to Location Services, and search for a purple GPS arrow in the list.


Note: The app with the purple GPS arrow tells you which app is currently using your location services, and if it’s something you didn’t turn on yourself (like navigation, for example), that app is probably the one sucking up your battery.


Step 3:  You must EITHER turn location services off OR see if there’s a setting within the app that fixes the problem.

                                               How to Download Installous5 and Install 

**** Note: For this to work, you must have your iPhone/iPod/iPad jailbroken. (as ive blogged about before but email me for any help doing so ichuckydee6885@gmail.com)

 1. Open up Cydia on your jailbroken device

2. Open the ‘Manage‘ tab on the bottom of the screen and select ‘Sources.’

3. On the top of your device screen, select ‘Edit‘ and then ‘Add.’

4. You will be prompted to enter in a URL. Type in the following URL: http://cydia.hackulo.us then "ADD SOURCE" (you WILL be prompted with a copyright warning as u do with mostly all cydia sources) click "add anyway"

5. Wait a few minutes as the program begins to download. Once it says ‘Complete,’ hit ‘Return to Cydia.’

 6. Now it will bring you back to the SOURCES  screen, select Hackulo.us from the list of sources

7. Scroll down and select ‘Installous5.’

8. Press ‘Install‘ at the top of your screen.

9. Congratulations! You’ve just successfully installed Installous on your jailbroken device:-)

Why Installous for the iPhone?

 Since you landed on this page, it’s likely you have some idea on what installous for the Apple iPhone does. But in the event you don’t, here’s a brief explanation:

When Apple released the iPhone, they also released the App Store. Now, at this point in time, the App Store has become incredibly successful, selling billions of mobile apps. Generally, in order to get these apps, iPhone users need to go to the app store, do a search and download the app from there.
    As users with jailbroken iPhones know, however, when you unlock your iPhone, you open the door to virtually unlimited customization options. This is what installous is all about – a new way to get apps onto your unlocked iPhone. With installous, you simply search for an app’s .IPA, click the “download” link and install the .IPA. Bam! Now you’ve got that app on your iPhone. It’s incredibly easy – but it can be frustrating finding the right source. When you download a .IPA onto your Apple iPhone, you’ll have to choose a source to download it from. From that point, you’ll often have to fill out a CAPTCHA code before you can get the download link. Occasionally, an .IPA will be hosted on a site that makes it difficult for iPhone users to get through the download process. If you find this happening to you, don’t sweat it. Just go back into installous and pick a new source.

 How to Get Installous on Your iPod If you have an iPod touch, you can get Installous! 

    Currently, you cannot install Installous on any iPods other than an iPod touch. If you want to install Installous on your iPod, you will need to jailbreak it. If you have jailbroken your iPod, use the above steps to install Installous onto your iPod.


 Installous on your PC

    Unfortunately, the website that provided this app (appulo.us) has shut down its services. Don’t worry, though, there are still ways you can get apps from your PC, onto your iPhone/iPod. By using Apptrackr.org, you can search for any apps you want, download them, and then install them onto your iPod/iPhone from your pc. By using this website, you essentially have Installous on your PC.

Installous on iPad

 Like Installous on iPod, you must have your iPad jailbroken before you can use Installous. Once you have your iPad jailbroken, launch Cydia, and follow the above directions.

New Facebook app

One of the Facebook engineers said the new application has been built primarily using Objective-C, the programming language used to build applications for iOS. Many of the components of the current version of the Facebook app are built using HTML5, the Web-based markup language.

The current version of the app is essentially an Objective-C shell with a Web browser inside. When it comes to speed, this is like putting the engine of a Smart Car in the body of a Ferrari.

Applications that are predominantly HTML5 render most of the components of an app as a Web page, pulling images and content from the Web directly into the application. Objective-C takes the opposite approach, taking full advantage of the hardware in the iPhone and then building most of the functionality directly into the application so it has to collect less information from the Web.

I had the opportunity to see the as-yet unreleased iPhone application, and it is fast. Blazing fast. The two engineers I spoke with said the new application is being tested by Facebook developers and is expected to be updated this summer.

Don’t get too excited, though. The new Facebook app looks exactly like the old one. Facebook hasn’t changed the design, but rather focused on speed.

In late 2011, Dave Fetterman, an engineering manager at Facebook, told an audience at Facebook’s f8 developer conference that the company had chosen to build its apps predominantly using HTML5 so that it could take advantage of reusing programming code across multiple mobile platforms.

This proved to work for developers at Facebook, reducing the amount of work they had to do across mobile apps, but has backfired for users, who have seen the app stretched to its limits as more functionality has been added over time.

How to install ios6 without being a dev... If u dare :-P

Download the iOS 6 beta file for your device. You can find this either by searching Google, or from the iPhone Developers site.

If you haven’t already done so, upgrade to the latest version of iTunes (10.6.3), then open it up.
Plug in your device and allow it to back up.

Now hold down the option key on your Mac (that’s shift for Windows users), and click on the ‘Check for Update’ button. Do not click the ‘Restore’ button because it won’t work.
Select the iOS 6 .ipsw file you just downloaded and allow it to install.

You should now be running the iOS 6 beta, and you can either setup your device as ‘new’, or restore your content from the backup you made earlier.

If the process fails and your device cannot be authorized, then restore your device back to iOS 5.1.1.

IOS 6 baseband upgrade 2.8.04

Apple has released iOS 6.0 Beta 2 for developers that can be downloaded from the iOS Dev Center. iOS 6.0 Beta 2 is currently available for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 3, iPad 2 and iPod touch 4G. If you are an iPhone 4S user and updated your firmware to iOS 6.0 Beta 2, you would have noticed that your baseband gets upgraded to 2.8.04.

If you are an iPhone 4S user who rely on unlock, upgrading your baseband to 2.8.04 will make you loose your iPhone 4S unlock. So better stay away from the iOS 6.0 beta 2 if you rely on unlock and even a jailbreak as you might loose your untethered jailbreak. iPhone 4S users who rely on Gevey unlock or any other Turbo SIM unlock solutions should stay away from iOS 6.0 beta 2.

Tethered jailbreak for iOS6 ( developers and the ballsy only)

The iPhone Dev Team has released RedSn0w 0.9.13dev2 for Windows and Mac that can be used for tethered jailbreak iOS 6.0 beta 2. RedSn0w 0.9.13dev2 can be used for iOS 6.0 Beta 2 tethered jailbreak on GSM iPhone 4, CDMA iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G. RedSn0w 0.9.13dev2 for iOS 6.0 beta 2 jailbreak is mainly intended for developers who are looking to test out their jailbreak apps on iOS 6.0. If you are a iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS user and are on Mac, you can use the below guide for a tethered iOS 6.0 Beta 2 jailbreak. Also note that, iPhone users who are on an untethered jailbreak or rely on unlock, better stay away from the iOS 6.0 Beta 2.


Step 1 : Download RedSn0w 0.9.13dev2 for Mac OS X.

Step 2 : Extract the contents of redsn0w_mac_0.9.13dev2.zip to any folder of your choice.

Step 3 : Launch RedSn0w app and click ‘Extras’ button followed by ‘Select IPSW’.

Step 4 : Choose iOS 6.0 Beta 1 IPSW file (Its not iOS 6.0 Beta 2) and click the Back button.

Step 5 : Click the ‘Jailbreak’ button to start iOS 6.0 Beta 2 jailbreak.

Step 6 : RedSn0w will show you a new screen and choose ‘Install SHSH’ from the available options and click Next.

Step 7 : Now you need to put your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS in DFU mode. Also make sure that your iPhone is both off and plugged in to the computer.
Hold down Power (corner) button for 5 seconds.
Without releasing the Power button, also hold down the Home (bottom center) button for 10 seconds.
Without releasing the home button, release the Power button. But keep holding the Home button for 15 seconds.

Step 8 : RedSn0w 0.9.13dev2 will now jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 6.0 Beta 2. After the jailbreak is completed, your iPhone will be rebooted into jailbroken state.


Tethered Boot iOS 6.0 Beta 2 on iPhone With RedSn0w

As mentioned earlier, iOS 6.0 beta 2 jailbreak with RedSn0w is tethered, which means that every time your iPhone looses the power, you need to connect it to a Mac and run RedSn0w for a tethered boot. To tethered boot your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS on iOS 6.0 Beta 2, just connect your iPhone to the Mac, launch RedSn0w and choose ‘Extras’ -> ‘Just Boot’.

Just two weeks after apple released ios6 beta for developers they released beta 2 to anyone who had already had the previous beta version installed. And surprise, surprise!!! The settings logo came to life!!!! just one of the many nice new tweaks available on the new ios.There are over 200 new features to better the previously mass released 5.1.1

A FAMILY IN NEED

A very caring and loving family needs our help.  They have always been a family to help others now it is unfortunately, a time that they need help. The family was a very typical middle class family, father worked and supported the family of 6. The mother, a stay at home mom and 3 of the 4 children all excelling in school. Until the father had a very unfortunate accident rendering him with an injury that required surgery. as the father had disability, the family struggled to make it through until the father went back to work. After only 3 weeks back to work the father was pulled from his job only to now need 2+ additional surgeries. Unable to work now the family has 0 income and the bills are racking up. The mother had gotten a job but due to her high risk pregnancy, she to is now unable to work. The Parents have now exhausted all resources to them and need help as they risk eviction, electric termination, and now medical benefits are at risk of termination for the family as they are unable to pay the high premiums to maintain. As they have always helped others now it is them that needs the help. How to fix Cydia boot errors

You may encounter an error while the initial boot on cydia takes place on your jail broken device, no need to panic! Here is a nice and simple way to solve the problem (noob friendly)

First, make sure you have mobile terminal and open ssh installed on your device, both of which are available on the cydia app

Next, open MT
At the first prompt type "su"
Then for the password "alpine" that is the default password for all devices unless you have already changed it. In that case type you custom password
Then at the next prompt type"apt-get update"

Let the program run and monitor any errors that may be listed BUT...

Usually just running this program will correct any boot errors that may have presented themselves to you previously

If it doesn't then take the errors you noted and find their corresponding apps in cydia (cydia>manage>packages) and simply remove and reinstall :-)
